Panel discussion «Reform of the United Nations Security Council: new approach to reinstatement of international order»
At the invitation of the Department for Communications of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Igor Korotchenko, the General Director of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies, took part in the panel discussion in Moscow «Reform of the United Nations Security Council: new approach to reinstatement of international order».
Similar events already took place in Italy, Argentina, France, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Republic of South Africa, Germany, Korea, Japan and Spain. The finish of this series of panel discussions is expected to take place in the USA in the framework of the UN General Assembly session.
Russian experts shared their opinion with respect to reforming the UN Security Council: Andrey Bystritsky, Chairman of the Board of the Fund for development and support of Valdai international Discussion Club, Igor Korotchenko, the CISS General Director, Andrey Baklanov, Deputy Chairperson of the Association of Russian Diplomats, Professor, Head of Section of the Middle East and Northern Africa studies in the Higher School of Economics, Amur Gadjiyev, Director of the Modern Turkey Studies Center, the research fellow of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In his speech, Igor Korotchenko on behalf of Russian expert community proposed to nominate Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, for the Nobel Peace Prize.
